Federico García Lorca was a Spanish modernist writer, now internationally famous for his poetry and theatre but also an important writer on poetics as well as a talented musician, director/scenographer, and visual artist. Here is a good overview of his work from the Instituto Cervantes.
This is the resource site for Leslie Bary’s seminar on García Lorca at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, funded by our Undergraduate Research Council and the Friends of the Humanities. In Fall, 2019 we will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9:30-10:45 on the fourth floor of Griffin Hall.
Our primary language is Spanish but students majoring in other fields may do some of the reading in translation, and may write in another language, so long as it is one I read. My office is 443 Griffin, and I can be reached at lbary@louisiana.edu.
